The truth being a “Writer”.

Ā Ā

We have been called many things. Author, biographer, wordsmith, penman, dramatist by default. A person who writes in a specified way. But we like to be called ā€œjournalistā€.

We come from all walks of life. To walk through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and guidance. It writes our own story, our ability to have a thought or a daydream, to imagine something wonderful. Our journey is our truth.

How I started writing?

Simply put, I was influenced with my Neuro- Surgeon Therapist, Dr. Adamos and a good friend of mine Camden Long. They told me, I should write a daily journal, make a blog and write my own stories. Write everything what I know, anything that flows in my mind and how it made me feel. Write it down.

At first, I thought it would be so boring and complicated. I was so lazy writing here and there, but I realized, it helped me think clearly like a therapy.

The best thing to do if you want to become a writer, regardless of your age, is to write regularly. Even if you write for just 10 minutes a day or one day a week. Even if you have to get up an hour before everyone else to get some quite time.

The hard thing in the beginning is to make yourself devote time to writing. And the more you write, the better you get at it- the greater your sense of how words should flow as they express your thoughts, observations, and feelings. There are no shortcuts here. You just keep doing it until it becomes as natural as walking.

If you are writing, you have already become a writer. The readership comes later.

The second thing that will help you become a writer is to read a lot! I meant, A LOT! To some extent, it doesnā€™t matter what you read- anything from comic books to popular magazine is more grist for the mill. However, it cannot hurt to delve into the classics. There is a reason the great poets and authors are revered. The more of their language you can get into your head, the better. Plus, it helps your vocabulary and spellings!

When you feel ready and have a small body of work you feel good about, seek out other writers who can help you. If not, seek out with people who is closest to you. Share your work and get their comments. If all they do is criticize and tear your work to shreds, donā€™t give up! Take their advice to heart and try to do better. Eventually you will get more compliments than criticism.

Once you reach the stage where you are getting positive feedback, look for places where you can publish. Maybe you start with a blog or a student newspaper. Today there are many more places online than ever before where you can publish your words. Eventually, you may find people who will pay you. And thatā€™s where I am heading!šŸ˜Š

I can honestly say that this is my 1st website to become a writer and share my blog to others. I never knew what to do with all the characters in my head, but since ā€œDiscovering a Life Journeyā€, I am writing again in my spare time. It has helped me in so many ways, and has given me more confidence about myself and my work. It is a plethora of knowledge, written in a simplistic way to help aspiring writers.

I hope I inspire you to write your own stories and help motivate others to go in a positive way and pursue a dream.ā˜ŗļø

Follow your guts.

Cheers!
